Mass on Memorial Day: observing fullness of freedom

Posted on April 27, 2013

Memorial Day at Calvary Catholic Cemetery

Memorial Day has always been special at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. It is the only cemetery serving the five-county Diocese of St. Petersburg where the true fullness of freedom – both sacred and secular – are observed on this national holiday.

On May 27 at 10 a.m., Bishop Robert N. Lynch and some of the priests of the Diocese of St. Petersburg will gather at the outdoor altar to celebrate the holy sacrifice of the Mass – a memorial of the death and resurrection of Jesus who freed mankind from the bonds of sin – and to remember, honor and pray for those who have maintained the freedoms that we enjoy as United States citizens.

Won’t you please join us on Memorial Day for this special remembrance?
