Many Catholic residents in Father Hugh’s home village in Tanzania walk to Mass on Sundays. It’s not unusual, he relayed to those at the Month’s Mind Mass on August 31, to see a lengthy stream of family members. Those with substantial energy lead the way while the elders trot slowly behind the youth.

“It is much the same way after Mass on the return trip,” he said. It is customary for those who arrive home first to prepare the meal for those who will arrive later.

In a way, it is the same for us as we travel life’s journey and move on to our heavenly home. While here, we pray that those who have passed before us are in their heavenly abode with God preparing for our arrival.

Please take this opportunity to pray for your departed loved ones at the Month’s Mind Mass on September 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Resurrection.
