Month’s Mind Mass is now on Saturday

Mark your calendar and reset your clock. The Month’s Mind Mass has moved to the last Saturday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

The Mass was rescheduled from a weekday to better accommodate the loved ones of those laid to rest the prior month. During Mass, the recently interred are prayed for by name and family members light a candle in their memory. People who have passed and have no known survivors as well as all at Calvary are remembered in prayer during the Liturgy.

The tradition of the Month’s Mind dates to the fifteenth century as a feast of prayerful remembrance for departed souls on or about the thirtieth day of their passing. It is common in Ireland and England and its adoption is increasing in the United States.

All who desire to attend the Month’s Mind Mass are welcome. Calvary Catholic Cemetery is located at 5233 118th Avenue North, Clearwater, Fla.
