Let their memory continue to shine

Candles are prevalent in Catholiic churches, chapels and cathedrals around the world. Day and night, the warm glow of sanctuary lamps and votive and vigil candles call us to reflect and pray. They are symbolic of our Christian belief that Jesus is the Light of the World.

In the early days of Christianity, lighted torches were maintained at the tombs of the martyrs as a sign of solidarity with Christians on earth. The practice continues today with votive lights as a way to share the earthly journey of our dearly departed and to remember them in our prayers until we are reunited.

Calvary Catholic Cemetery is pleased to provide a limited number of electronic votive candles in the Chapel of the Resurrection for those who wish to honor the memory of a loved one through this ancient custom.

To reserve a candle, contact us at 727 572-4355 or by E-MAIL. The cost for maintaining a vigil candle is $125.00 for six months, $225.00 for one year or $400.00 for two years. Each candle will include a personalized inscription with the name and dates of birth and death of those for whom the candle is dedicated.
